1. What is a Professional Body?

A Professional Body (also called a Professional Association or Professional Society) is a non-profit organisation that seeks to further a particular profession, the interests of individuals engaged in that profession, and the public interest. In India, most professional bodies are set up by an Act of Parliament or under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
